Rain Doesn't Stop Boaters at Kenny Chesney Concert
Tuesday, June 17, 2008

At the much anticipated Kenny Chesney concert at Heinz Field, boaters lined up several days in advance to secure spots along the North Shore Wharf in Pittsburgh. Although a little rain and rising gas prices may have kept some boaters at their home port, there was still a great showing with well over one-hundred boats making the trip for the concert.

The BoatPittsburgh.com Summer Kick-off party was also a resounding success. Many boaters stopped by for free hot dogs while the BoatPittsburgh girls, provided by BarSmart.com, passed out free drink koozies and signed boaters up for our e-mail newsletter, Dock Talk.

Kathy Lang, Karen Bennis, and Eric Grubbs (pictured below left to right) were the lucky winners that received prize packs with items donated by Labatt Blue, the official beer of BoatPittsburgh.com, and The Landing and Marina at Station Square. Eric Grubbs also won a pair of Kenny Chesney tickets donated by Jimmy Nelson from Jim's Motor Shop on Babcock Blvd (412-608-2844).

Although the rain didn’t clear up until the evening came, a good time was had by all. The crew at BoatPittsburgh.com would like to thank all of those that stopped by our tent, signed up for the news letter, or just said hello. We the season already off to a great start, we are looking forward to more good times in the upcoming months.
